Come alive, Come awake!

Spring is such a vibrant time of year.  Plants and trees glow with iridescent green leaves sprouting forth as if to say ‘Come alive, Come awake!’  Birds sing songs of delight as they create nests.  Amorous mating rituals add to the cacophony of sounds.  Life is reborn.

What about us?  What about humanity?

Often we are so busy in the day-to-day that we fail to notice new life literally bursting forth, getting brighter and bolder each day.

What if this Spring we ‘Come alive, Come awake!’  with all of creation?  What if we let our hearts sing new songs filled with delight as we move through each day?

What if we think of this day as a gift?  There is a delight in receiving a gift.  Our heart is enlivened and joy springs forth.  As we open our hearts to this day, let’s choose to open our hearts to the people we meet. Let’s notice the beauty around us.

Beauty often arrives in the unexpected…

In places and people, we encounter during our day…

In faces lined with age…

In the newness of a baby snuggling into his mother's embrace…

In dew dripping off the tips of leaves.

In a dog named Mary digging for the fun of it…

We are given an incredible opportunity each and every day to begin life anew.  Possibilities abound. The gift of this day is worth noticing.

I hope your Spring is glorious!

Mary Ann
