Oh, to be a feather on the breath of God.
- Hildegard of Bingen

Prayer is not an activity. It is a state of being. We were not meant to pray,
but to become a prayer.
We are not just meant to say prayers,
we are meant to embody a life of prayer.
- Rev'd Dr. Frederick W. Schmidt

The early breeze before dawn
is the keeper of secrets.
Don't go back to sleep!
It is time for prayer...
Don't go back to sleep!
The door of the One who created the world
is always open. Don't go back to sleep.
- Rumi

The journey is within and without.
It surrounds and encompasses
All of who we are...
All of who we will be.

Be mindful of the blessings
you encounter each day.

Companions on the journey
add a joy
and sweetness to life!

Source of all blessings...You bless us with times and seasons...May I be steadied by their rhythm, from the rising of sap to sprouting, blossoming and fruiting, falling of fruit and leaves and of the first snow; may I give myself to the flow of this great circle dance that carries us and joins us together. _Brother David Steindl-Rast

Stop at the crossroads and look around.
Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.
Travel its path and you will find rest for your souls.
- Jeremiah 6:16

Birds sing,
rejoicing in the rain.
Each bird's song
unique.
A beautiful anthem
to God.

The measure of love is to love without measure.
- St. Francis de Sales.

What is God weaving in you today?
Open your heart to the possibilities
you encounter each day...
Open your heart to the wonder of God.

"We are God's masterpiece."
Ephesians 2:10

See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.
Isaiah 49:16

We need to find God,
and God cannot be found in noise
and restlessness.
God is the friend of silence.
See how nature-trees, flowers, grass-
grows in silence...
We need silence to be able to touch souls.
- Mother Teresa

God calls us to the fullness of living which
can be manifested in a multitude of ways.
We have to listen closely for what is truly
life-giving and there lies the struggle.
- Christine Valters Paintner, PhD

“The Eucharist becomes a microcosmic moment of belief and power in which we say we believe in the real presence of God in Jesus, in this bread, and in this wine.” — Richard Rohr

Creativity
…aka Visual Prayer

1My favorite spiritual practice is very diverse.  It includes drawing, painting, printmaking, journaling, poetry, mandalas & ceramic arts.  This practice involves sharing the most joyful part of who I am with God.  My visual creations become my offerings to God.

Spiritual Practices…traditional & nontraditional

2I love the idea of spiritual practices. Our faith journey is one in which we work out our faith on a day to day, moment by moment basis.  Spiritual practices are tools we use in order to practice our faith, not with the idea that we will ever be perfect as the old saying goes, but so that we draw ever nearer to the heart of God.

Spiritual Direction

3The faith journey is a deeply personal experience. Just as each of us has a unique appearance, no two persons journey will be the same.  Spiritual Direction is a place to explore all facets of your faith journey as you seek to move ever closer to God.
