Welcome to Day 2 of Refresh!
What do you think of when you hear the word Ritual? Baptism? Communion?
Have you ever considered creating rituals in your own life and your own days?
Ritual is defined as a series of actions performed according to a prescribed order. It is said that Ritual helps us connect to God and provide a sense of meaning in our lives. I believe Ritual also grounds our days and provides a time for us to check-in with God and with our Self.
My morning ritual is very simple…I brew a cup of hot tea, I read inspirational books and I ponder what I am grateful for in this moment.
Evening ritual time can be equally life-giving if you are one who experiences busy mornings. A great evening ritual that refreshes and relaxes is this…Begin with a warm shower or an epsom salt bath and imagine the water washing away the cares of the day. Take time to breathe in the moist air and let your self relax. Take a few moments to examine your day. Where were you successful in the day’s endeavors? Notice areas you can work on. Where and when did you notice God shimmering in your day?
How do you begin and end your days? If the idea of a ritual doesn’t appeal to you, consider gently welcoming or closing the day and see what a difference this simple change can make in your day.
Create a collage, using either a Spiral Path card or watercolor paper, that represents a daily ritual you enjoy and share it in our Facebook page.
