Most people think of contemplative living as a very passive process and something for monks in monasteries. The reality of contemplative living is just the opposite.  It is an active, alert stance towards life and God.  It is a lifestyle based on communion with and companionship with God.

There will be more information in the upcoming weeks on contemplative living but for now I want to leave you with this initial thought from Elaine Heath, a professor at Perkins School of Theology:

A Contemplative Stance-

Show up
Pay attention
Cooperate with God where the Spirit is moving
Release the outcome
